We are all familiar with Lady Justice, regal in her toga, holding a set of scales and wearing a blindfold. The blindfold is the key to justice -- it assures judgment is made without bias and without influence from outside sources. The court system is arguably the most important of the three branches of our American democracy; the guardian of our Constitution. But will justice remain blind when the only ethical rules binding the highest court of the land are written by the Court itself? What if that blindfold starts to unravel?
